uh oh. my daily fashion.
there are some really put-together looking mamas out there. i see them every day and stare in wonder at how in the world they do it. i'm not one of those mamas. the pictures i post on this blog are usually carefully chosen. i try to get ian to take pictures of me when i feel like i look halfway decent. but i find that my desire to be AT ALL stylish is eroding as my belly gets bigger and the weather gets hotter. i find myself simply wanting to WEAR LESS. since i work from my studio at home, i can get away with it. at 6 months pregnant, i try to start each day with a walk around the neighborhood. that means that i can usually be seen in a tank top and shorts (that over the last few months are beginning to more closely resemble panties, i'm afraid) with my hair piled on top of my head. as for morning walk accessories, i carry 7 pound weights. my teenage self would cringe at the sight.
this morning as i was sweating and huffing and puffing up a hill, i realized that the 2 weights in my hands added up to the amount of weight i will most likely still gain in this pregnancy. just the thought of that stopped me in my tracks and i had to sit on the curb for a minute to process it. ooooh, it's gonna be a long, hot, unfashionable summer, y'all....
boy, oh boy....
****we've got a BOY on the way****
we peered deep into his cave last week and caught our first glimpse. as we saw those beautiful black and white images on the screen, my mind emptied and my heart filled. for just a minute, all i could hear - all i could feel - was my heartbeat. i swear it felt like the whole world's heartbeat.
getting to SEE our bebechild, our son, changed things for me. just the image of him was captivating. only 19 weeks to go until we get to lay our eyes, our skin, our breath on him. oh, boy.....
