15 weeks

15 weeks in and we've grown so much.

we are planning to have this beloved bebechild at home.  i say "planning to" because our plans for koruna's birth didn't pan out.  she was breech and we had to search the state of texas for a doctor that would let us birth her naturally.  (you can see my previous post on that here) we had to swim against the stream on that one and our much-loved next door neighbor, brielle, encouraged and guided us through that struggle.  she then traveled to koruna's birth and was our doula.

and this time around she is our midwife!  score!  in addition to absolutely adoring her, i get to walk next door for my prenatal appointments.   and she came over this weekend and let my beloved in-laws hear the baby's heartbeat.  AND we found flowers on my doorstep the other day with a note scrawled on one of our bricks.

it was a "feel better" gift from kaya, brielle's daughter.  i'm a happy mama.

and i do feel better.  i'm still feeling sick, but i've heard the bebechild's heartbeat twice.  and i've just started feeling eetybeety kicks.

we're moving right along....

had an idea

every so often i stop and ponder the fact that almost every little thing humans have brought into being - hammocks, ocean liners, civil disobedience - started with an idea. each one was first a picture in someone's head. when michael norris put more ink on my arm the other day,  i thought back to when this tattoo was just an idea.   one sweltering cerveza-soaked afternoon on our honeymoon a couple of years ago, ian began sketching our ideas on my arm.

gracias a michael norris for the new color in my life.
