spring break

we just got back home from our spring vacation.  we were away from home for 10 days and it was a great break.  time seemed suspended because ian and i weren't busy working and managing our day-to-day lives while spending time with our littlest loves.  we just got to hang out together.  and with people that we love.  we spent a few days in austin having slumber parties at each of my sisters' houses.  then we headed to florida to spread some love to our family there.

below, beside the picture of mars and his grandad, are the poetry posts that stand outside the ingram house in florida.  there is a post for all to enjoy as well as one especially for kids.  each week a new poem on each post greets the passersby.  we love it and so does everyone else.   the neighborhood children contribute their own work or their favorite poems.  koruna got to post her own butterfly poems while we were there.

the poetry post is one of many things i love about the florida ingram house.  there are treasures to be found in every nook and cranny - objects that seem like little love letters to the finder.  as we were heading to the airport for our return trip to austin, i snapped a picture of  a little note that is tucked into the bathroom mirror.

considering that our multiple flights to florida were insanely bad and had surely aged me a few years, i was grateful for that little reminder before once again boarding a plane with a 1 1/2 year old.
