Sayulita is a little surfing and fishing village located about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific coast of Mexico. There is an eclectic array of folks in this small town; an international crowd mixes with the local families, Huichol artisans, and surfers.
Sayulita is laid back. You can walk pretty much everywhere. There are no big hotels here and a good portion of the town shuts down for the Summer rainy season. All you really need is a swimsuit, a pair of flip flops, and some sunscreen. Oh and some pesos. Most places don't take credit cards.
We love it here.
Sayulita is a surfing village on the Pacific Coast of Mexico - about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta. We were married here, our kids began their schooling here, and we sometimes venture back to Sayulita for months at a time. It’s not the sleepy town it used to be, but it’s quite a special place.
