flo schooled me on the backdrops of your American Gothic Series, South Austin Style and she told me ( even supplied a link) that your back drop is a suzanni ( i may have not spelled right _for those of you who know about the RISK board in our living room you’ll understand)…our friend Blair observed the same- oh, she said…look at the suzannis….so, like honey i am in awe of how the parts make the whole and how knowing the parts makes me wholly enthralled and forever amazed.

Oh Child, all that eclecticism is what MAKES it south Austin style! I love knowing all those details as well. I am glad it is written down here ahead of the day we cannot remember. Because you know how now I go back and look at pictures and ask, “now which girl is this?” Maybe it is just me…..

i do like knowing where all of our clothes came from. ian is wearing a shirt of sandy besser’s. my shirt i bought before ian’s new york show. run’s skirt IS from ivy’s india trip. marvel’s pants are from santa fe and his shirt is from jan. my head scarf is one of mimi’s sashes. runa’s snake necklace is from nao. we bought the kercheif in ian’s pocket while on our honeymoon in mexico. we’re standing in front of one of ian’s turkish souvenirs. not much from south austin in the south austin style….

And what about her hand on his head mid-sneeze even?? So soft and protective seeming. And Koruna’s skirt. From India via Auntie Ivy I think. Did she have this portrait in mind when she made the purchase, because it could not be more perfect for American Gothic, South Austin Style. Oh how much love goes here.

I can’t get my eyes off all four of ya’ll’s hands, there are stories in your hands alone, you all wrap around each other in the tenderest way, but the both-hands grip Koruna has on her daddy in the 3rd frame of the triptych gets me to the core. One thing, these kids are not going to need WahWah’s emotional range tutorials, they’ve got the stuff. xoxoxoxo
