my hair has been an important part of my life. funny because i’m low maintenence – i won’t dry my hair or fix it. never have. but i was a hair model for seven years.
whoa…
i loved that job. i got to travel the world and work with people i loved, but i didn’t really get to choose how i looked for those years – so many styles, so many colors. so when i was done modeling, i was excited to gain some control over my look. i grew my hair out and went back to my natural blonde because that was DIFFERENT. it’s been long for almost a decade now.
and i’ve grown sick of looking at it. so i got my hair cut. happy to be moving on.
soon, i reckon i’ll color it.

WOW! Love the new do but also love the retrospective – and, of course, all those runway years that ultimately brought you to Ian and to us. No wonder you and nai have such gorgeous, smart and funny kiddos. I’ve already started counting days.
Did not know!
I’ve often wondered how it is you always look so composed on camera, no shyness or hesitation, the pieces are coming together now. I’m just guessing you and Shaz might’ve booked a salon day together, I noticed on her new entries that she’s got a new length similar to yours, gosh you two both look absolutely sensational!
yes, to what flo says about sensational… as one who shys away from cameras i appreciate what flo is observing here. even more, i appreciate those amazing current photos of you and Mars. i had seen the one before, but his eyes had me and i didn’t focus on your hair until this entry. jake and i saw erin, our young neighbor and she mentioned to us that you had a new haircut (saw it on facebook)…and she said what we know is so true- thatto which the photos bear witness: you would look beautiful no matter how you style your hair.
Oh Child. How much fun to go back and recall those hair modeling days. I remember how you said, “I am the poorest person I know but I sure get to go to some fabulous places.” Yes you did and my how all that travel shaped you. I love today’s look and am so glad it requires nothing of you – you have nothing left over for hair! The pictures of you and Marvel Boy are so sweet; this is the first time he has looked like Koruna’s baby pictures to me. Thanks so much for the show.
Love,
Honey
funny that ian has probably had at least as many styles as i have….
shazaam did it first! i was inspired by her new do and went for it. but i think i might have to go shorter soon…. shazaam actually did all that hair modeling as well. we have some pretty hilarious pictures from those days.
so nice to hear. it’s gonna take me a while to figure out my “look” exactly. a lifetime perhaps….
he’s looking more like runa every day. and that means more like ian. lucky, lucky boy.
“might have to go shorter soon”
Really?
How about a totally-gone-gorgeous mulletesque cut [at right]:

I bookmarked this page a while back thinking I might be so daring one day, but I’m quite sure there’s no one around these parts skilled enough to do this cut.
Love and hugs all around!
OH Flo, come on! If you get this ‘do, I will come and help you “rat” it if necessary. And it is practically guaranteed to need no bobby pins! I wish I knew how to scan in and share some photos of Jeri Lynn in another life when she did actually dry and work some on her hair. I could show you her in solid magenta sequins with a long flowing blond mane. And with her favorite little girl look – perms! And when I rolled her hair on pink rollers and she sported what her cousins called “waterfall hair.” Yes, she and Ian could win some prizes for hair variety! Love to all.
Honey
“waterfall hair.”
I’m thinking of waterfall hair as I know it, wonder if we’re talking about the same thing. I have a friend who’d just enrolled at UT right when this gal hit campus. My friend said she’d never seen anything like what happened when this gal walked by, no matter where she went, jaws dropped, heads turned:
Waterfall hair, like so? http://www.beautybombshells.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/farrahcolour.jpg
Well, actually this was more the prepubescent waterfall hair, not the sexy bombshell Farah hair we all lusted after! Imagine if you will, hair that had been pink rollered all night just on the ends. Curling ironed bangs, long blond hair and at the bottom it was flipped and teased into, well they were right – a waterfall. I worked hard for that look for that beautiful girl of mine. I am surprised it didn’t catch on…..
it didn’t catch on ( i would guess) because anyone who saw jeri lynn wearing her hair thus, would say to themselves that there is no way they could look as stunning. none. and they would give up in total resignation….
“he’s looking more like runa every day. and that means more like ian.”
I must need to update my glasses, but I could swear this girl is the spitting image of you, Jeri Lynn:

I would give much to see you right now in any of the above pictured hair incarnations. Missing you!
i just cut my hair shorter and am planning on going blonde soon. it occurred to me the other day that i am trying to look like her. i wish. i reckon runa’s my new idol.
“i just cut my hair shorter and am planning on going blonde soon.”
iwannaseeitttttttttttt !!
